Medical Simulation on the iPhone/iPod/iPad.

Perfect revision aid for life support courses, OSCE exam preparation or ad hoc teaching.
Verbally create a scenario as simple or as complex as the teacher wishes. If the student has a 2nd device, connect via Bluetooth and the 2nd device becomes a realistic monitor.
If the student initiates appropriate management for the simulated patient, the teacher can improve the patient’s vital signs. If not... the patient can deteriorate and eventually suffer cardiac arrest.

Would love to see wider range of heart rate and blood pressures, so then it could be applicable to Pediatrics and Neonatology.
Very useful app, especially for the price. People practicing in the US will need to look up the SI conversions for labs and Abgs but you cant have everything. Outstanding work and I hope it will be popular to encourage updates.
I have been looking for this simulation for a long time. Thank you for making it. I noticed that this simulator uses a lot of processing power because my iPod warmed up pretty fast.
SimMonitor is pretty nicely done (although some of the UI controls take getting used to), but the EKG section is just not accurate. I have been an EKG monitor tech for 15 years, and I teach nurses on a post-surgery nursing unit. Of the EKGs I looked up quickly, both the 2nd degree Wenkebach and the Complete Heart Block are really wrong: in both cases , the p-wave (the atrial contraction on the EKG) stays regular, because it follows the sinus node (the normal "pacemaker" of the heart. In the SimMonitor representation of both of these, the p-waves are not regular. There is an unusual rhythm called SinoAtrial 2nd degree Wenkebach that looks like that, but the app does not label it appropriately. Pretty app, Bad Teaching Tool!
The ECG rhythms arent accurate in the slightest- and theyre of no help to anyone who is going to try and practice EKG interpretation.
